Boulder wall with plumes of trees near 'Trou de la Bombe'
At this point so close to Bavella's 'Trou de la Bombe', the forest that had overshadowed the mountain for most of the way up is forced to retreat. Single pines trees stand as relics in the face of the wind like plumes on a helmet, signposts for masses of rocks bulging into the open wrapped in moss and green lichen.
