19th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
The old railroad bridge, built in 1927 in Fredericksburg Virginia, is an iconic image for those who live or visit the area. It crosses the Rappahannock River, a tidal waterway, and changes character with the tides and seasons.
