Broken Glass

Lake ice extends to the horizon on this cold still evening in Chicago. I vividly remember this day, I waded through waist deep snow drifts to arrive at the clean ice on the lakefront. I was the only person in sight and it was very quiet. The next morning, the wind had shifted and the ice was gone. I'm fascinated by the interface between the city and nature and this photo explores that boundary
