Brown bear on a creek
A brown bear consumes a carcass of a sockeye salmon that had spawned, died, and washed up on a beach alongside a creek in Bristol Bay, Alaska. During late summer, brown bears come from all over Southwest Alaska to small creeks and rivers to get their fill of spawning salmon. I use homemade camera traps to document bears cashing in on this valuable resource, occasionally resulting in some very engaging photographs.
