Buda Castle on the edge of River Danube
Buda Castle glowing on a frigid night in Budapest. The royal historical castle and palace complex was first completed in 1265, but the massive Baroque palace occupying most of the site today was built around 500 years later. The castle was destroyed and reconstructed many times in between as it came under siege by various empires over time.
