Buddhas of Bagan
This was taken inside the largest pagoda in Bagan - Dhamma Yan Gyi. The image of this Buddha is said to be a portrait of the Bamar king who built Dhamma Yan Gyi. The king is known for being ruthless - murdering his family and using slave labor to build the pagoda. The nuance of the violence and the beauty side by side really moved me.
