14th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Buffalo Graze at Sunset
We had been on the road for a week or more, traveling from NJ, north to Montana and then south into Wyoming. We had booked a campsite in Yellowstone National Park and we were running late due to a road closure. This was the route we took, everything fell into place. The sun was setting, baby bison were playing just across the river, and it was my first time in Yellowstone.
