Butter lamp: Ganden Monastery
At the 15th century Ganden Monastery in Lhasa, the potential for images was great. Yet it seemed to me that this simple yak butter lamp captured the essence of the place. Light for enlightenment, focus. Fuel donate by passing pilgrims.
