Butterfly Macro on a Bull Thistle Bloom

A butterfly searches for pollen on a bull thistle blossom. The bull thistle weed growing on the edge of my yard proved to be the mother load for insect photographs. There is a huge field of bull thistles a couple hundred yards from my house in the forest where tons of butterflies congregate..but you never know which thistle they're going to pick. This one was by itself, so all I had to do was wait...and sweat in the sunlight. Only butterfly diner in my personal town, as it turned out.
