Cappadocia's biggest markets are textiles and tourism, and it is excellent at both. It is known particularly for its unique landscape featuring "fairy chimneys," as seen in this shot. I had first seen a photo of this scene when I was around 10, in one of those "see before you die" books and picked it out as my ultimate bucket list item. As a student in Turkey twelve years later, this was the splurge of my semester, and worth every lira.
