Caribbean brown pelican
A portrait of a friend visiting the oceanarium in Rosario Islands in Colombia. This specimen Pelecanus occidentalis occidentalis, commonly called: Caribbean brown pelican, is the typical subspecies of the brown pelican (Pelecanus occidentalis), a bird belonging to the pelican family (Pelecanidae) that inhabits, with several subspecies, on the coasts of America since the southern United States to Brazil. This subspecies is the one found in the Caribbean Sea. Of course this birds love water and make a rendez vous to other acquatic friends.
