Carnival 2020 - When Venice was taken by mascarades days before the explosion of the Covid-19 Pandemic
This photo was taken during the famous Venetian Carnival. Mascarades were walking and performing on the streets of Venice without paying too much attention to the Covid-19 scare that was getting closer and closer. I left the city a day before its airport was shut down and borders were closed. These images I took in Venice in 2020 became even more mysterious than usual, considering that an invisible enemy was already among these mascarades and that the city carried already dark memories of the Plague and the "Quaranta Giorni" of lockdown in 1575.
