I took this photo on July 3 as a passenger in an Amish buggy on PA 340 Old Philadelphia Pike just entering Bird in Hand village. Luke, our horse is quite calm even with passing cars. This section of Lancaster County is increasingly developed as seen on the right of the photo. Still the heart of the Amish countryside, the farms are increasingly found on back roads.
