In the heart of North Cascades National Park. For the average hiker it is a three day trek to this off trail lake. This was my second season working as a Wilderness Ranger in the park. This year my duty station/patrol zone was in this area, the northwest corner of the park. This photo was taken in July 2022 and two weeks later a lightning storm started several wildfires in the area. I'm told by fire personnel that this area is now completely burned. The trailed section through the park is completely buried by black ash.
