This image is part of my ongoing series, 'The Lost Years' which documents children below the age of seven-years-old. Research suggests that most of us cannot recall much before that age. I have become the children's witness to their days of play and struggle, hoping to give them a story about themselves when they grow up. Two five-year-olds were playing and swinging over muddy water at the bank of a small man-made lake in the L.A. Arboretum.
