Driving home from a client’s late one afternoon, I spontaneously pulled over to a tiny public park spot after seeing two hawks soaring nearby. When I exited the car, the hawks were gone so I walked toward the little hidden stretch of brook adjacent to the park and discovered these two unexpected friends - a white tailed deer and a great egret- cooling off together on an exceptionally hot summer day. I silently thanked the hawks for tipping me off to this sweet secret scene.
