Luise and her family live on the Brazilian pampa, near the border with Uruguay. Her father works with horses, and among other things, owns a string of 'bucking broncos' that he rents out on the local rodeo circuit. Luise and her sister Alice help with the team, as general assistants, and compete in kinder sports, such as reining and barrel racing. They enjoy a world in which tradition and (post) modernity fuse; there is true grit, and there is internet!
