Central American Pygmy Owl in Costa Rica

Not much is known about the Central American Pygmy Owl (Glaucidium griseiceps), which is a newly-recognized species. It was previously listed with the Least Pygmy Owls. Very little is known about its breeding biology. This particular owl was one of a pair nesting in a hole in a dead coconut tree nearby.
