Charles is a long time beekeeper and historian with the North Carolina State Beekeepers Association. Aside from being a beekeeper, Charles has worked for the NC treasury department and also as a journalist for a Mount Airy newspaper where he met and photographed Andy Griffith for publication. Furthermore, Charles has played a significant part in raising awareness and funding to support and strengthen the ever growing community of beekeepers across North Carolina.
