Charred Redwood trunk

Fifteen months ago the Walbridge fire destroyed 55000 acres in Northern California. This redwood was completely burned and charred, and left fallen in the forest. Fortunately, the fire's movement had slowed by the time it reached this ancient redwood forest, which is home to 1,400 year old trees, and fire fighters were able to save many of the other trees in the grove from total damage.
