According to some folk, Guadalajara has the oldest lienzo, (arena) and charro (cowboy) associations in Mexico. Jalisco has been the host for more national charro and Charrería championship competitions than any other state in Mexico. I spend the day at the annual event with these rugged people documenting their love for animals and the sport.
