Cheetah family sunbathing at sunrise in Mara Triangle

This photo was taken just after the sun rose above the horizon. A mother cheetah, named Risasi by the local guides, and her 2 (big) cubs. Cubs are already 11 months old on the photo. She raised 4 cubs but two were killed (one by a snake, the other one by a crocodile). Those are the remaining ones when I took this photo. The mortality among cheetah is terrible and about 90% of the cubs don't survive so challenges are very big for any cheetah mother. She has to protect the cubs all the time from all the dangers of the savannah and they are so amny beginning with the most dangererous ones : lions and heynas that they must avoid at any cost. That's why they are on the move all the time with the cubs. They cannot stay at the same place abnd that's why the mother (and the cubs here) climb on termite mounds : to scan the territory to prevent any dangerous intruder (and also to spot some gazelles of course).
