Chestnut-headed bee-eater nesting in a drainage tunnel
There are 26 species of Bee-eaters in the world with 5 species seen in Malaysia. The most common endemic species is the Chestnut-headed Bee-eater. The species in Penang state appear to have recently abandoned the cavity nests for drainage tunnels in very large numbers.
