Chhath Puja

This image is from a moment of the festival called the Chhath Puja which is dedicated to the solar deity Surya (Hindu God). In the morning, worship of the first ray of the Sun and the last ray of the Sun in the evening are offered by the devotees. The rituals include holy bathing, fasting and abstaining from drinking water, standing in water for long periods of time, and offering prasad (prayer offerings) to the setting and rising sun.
