Chilling to survive #3 - Elephant seals in Año Nuevo State Park, CA

What looks like chilling on the beach is a crucial time in the lives of these elephant seal pups and females on the beach: After giving birth, females and pups stay on the beach for months until the pups are strong enough to swim. During this time, they are underfed and threatened by waves, which is why they move as little as possible.
