Chinook salmon splash
Chinook salmon are naturalized in the Laurentian Great Lakes, with many populations that are entirely wild (though non-native). These fish migrate from the lake to tributaries each fall to spawn, bringing lake-derived nutrients upstream. In some streams, the shallow bedrock makes seeing the salmon fairly easy, allowing people to also connect with these fish.
