Chiqui-Choclos
The Milagro School, part of the Malayeka Charity Empowerment Center in Northern Peru, offers after school programs for children from 3-15 years old on subjects such as environmental and cultural awareness, English, and arts and crafts. This photo shows the youngest group of children, called the "chiqui-choclos" or "little corns" waiting in line to enter their classroom. This organization is led by traveling volunteers who work in harmony with the village to provide a fun, safe place for local children to learn.
