CHOROK PUJA FESTIVAL

Charak Puja (Devotion to God) is an ancient Hindu religious and folk festival of Southern Belt of Bangladesh and West Bengal (India). On this day devotees penetrate themselves with sharp weapon and hook and hang themselves by Chorok Tree as they believe it will carry prosperity by eliminating the sorrow and sufferings of the previous year.
