Siberian spring is chthonic. It summons images of dark ancient creatures lurking in the woods and bogs, watching you from the shadows. Aprils are cold, there are still patches of snow and the branches are bare. It all reminds of well-known Russian paintings and this very photo is based on "Alyonushka" by Viktor Vasnetsov.
