Cicada Invasion

Cicada emergence in May 2021 in Maryland USA led to an overabundance of cicada insects on the yard plants. Emerging cicadas have the ability to discern tall objects (trees) to which they crawl. Once having climbed the tall object they molt and leave their old shells behind on the plants.
