Cinder cone
In August 2019 I traveled to the Island of Hawai’i, also known as the Big Island, to hike Mauna Loa, one of the volcanoes in the island. The photo shows a cinder cone, a typical lava formation in the area. In the background we can see part of the East slope of Mauna Kea, another of the volcanoes. Right between the two volcanoes we can see the clouds over the valley that connects the cities of Hilo on the East side and Kona on the West.
