Climb Your Mountain

As a surgical intern, it's easy to feel small. Days off are few and far between and in the midst of a pandemic there is not much escape from the confines of the hospital. On a day off I resolved to break out and breath some fresh air. I have always wanted to solo hike Old Rag Mountain, but I had yet to find the opportunity to go on my own. As a healthcare worker in the midst of the worst pandemic in a century it seemed like the perfect time. I drove out to the Shenandoah that morning and climbed my mountain. Standing on the edge overlooking the valley just for a moment I was able to just breathe.
