Close Encounters of the Crab Kind

This striped shore crab (Pachygrapsus crassipes) was barely visible under a rock crevice in the intertidal. Most of the shore crabs quickly scurry under cover when approached, but this one was brave enough to give me a second look before hiding deeper.
