Clothing line still life

This is a scene from old Havana. It captures the history of the country. The once grand 19th century Belle Epoque building has survived 50 years of Fidel Castro's reign by being patched with whatever materials were available from concrete to wood scraps. The patrician inhabitants have long left and the building has been turned over to the people who dry their laundry outside as there are no dryers. The laundry is as well worn and patched as the building.
