Coiled Warning: Rattlesnake at Ground Level
A wild Eastern Diamondback rises into a defensive posture just a foot from my lens, its rattle buzzing softly in the pines. A faint spray of venom struck the glass, softening the contrast and giving the moment an almost dreamlike, poetic quality.
