Cold Stare
Leopards can be extremely elusive and photographing them needs not only hours of patience but also some amount of luck. I had tried several times before to photograph an African Leopard at eye level in Africa, but unsuccessfully. While on a trip in a game reserve in South Africa I learned from my guide that a female leopard had made a kill near a waterhole and was using the waterhole for drinking usually during the late hours of the day. Luckily the waterhole had a hide attached to it for viewing and photographing animals and birds that came to drink water. After discussing and planning with my guide, I decided to stay at the hide overnight.
