Colony of Bubulcus ibis nesting on a pine tree in Barreiro, Portugal
Bubulcus ibis, also commonly known as the cattle egret, nests in colonies, usually near bodies of water. They are attracted to areas with mature trees with dense canopy cover. Overlapping branches allow the birds to move easily through the trees.
