Colourful Salt Lake

The salt of Lake Mecca mixes with the differently coloured carbonate compounds at the bottom of the lake to produce large, weirdly shaped, watercolour-like floating salt clumps, which form a variety of colourful and bizarre patterns under the action of weak cyclones and light. When the flamingos fly over the lake, it's like travelling through an ‘alien world’.
