A Kansas farmer harvests his corn crop. Fields are terraced to conform to the land contours, catching scarce rain water and minimizing erosion of precious topsoil from runoff. Farmers harvest all day and all night, hoping to get the crops in before hail, rain, or some other disaster strikes.
