While kayaking in late July on Whetstone Pond in Maine, I saw a pair of loons and decided to try and photograph them. As I was zooming in, I saw the tiny baby loon with them. No babies had been seen all summer so I was very happy to see this one. Eventually I saw the baby climb onto the parents back and was lucky enough to get this shot of them face to face.
