Common Yellowthroat bathing in the stream
Masked Bandit washing away the evidence On our morning dog walk, my wife set up her laptop at a picnic table, knowing I would get sidetracked chasing birds through the park. It was an early May with spring migration underway, and my trusty bird dog was clipped to my belt, leaving my hands free to operate the camera for any passing migratory birds. Wandering through the thick underbrush in search of warblers, I arrived at Holmes Run Stream, where a variety of birds were taking a bath. I crept as close as I dared and settled into the dark shadows of the weeds and poison ivy, my dog in tow, hoping to capture some warblers bathing.
