Companionship at an elephant sanctuary
Taking part in a sustainable travel project makes a trip even more meaningful. One aspect of a sustainable travel project is caring for another living creature, especially if it is an endangered species or is at risk of becoming endangered or worse, extinct. My significant other and I spent our 10 year anniversary at the Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Before Jokia (left) was rescued by the Elephant Nature Park, she was blinded by her previous owner. She is fully blind, but her companion Mae Perm guides and consoles her.
