Connecting Through Disconnecting: A House With a Glacial View

I was staying in an AirBnb in the mainly uninhabited city of Kirkjubæjarklaustur (located in a UNESCO Global Geopark) in the south of Iceland and this was the view I had out of the window. This is a neighboring house with a Glacier in the background. The moss covered hills are formed from lava flow from the multiple volcanic eruptions that have occurred in the area over the years. This photo shows the simple way of life and really the importance of taking in the beauty around you. I think the image represents a way of life and a way of being grateful to disconnect from the typical life I have living in Washington, DC. In actuality, being able to disconnect and enjoy this shot is really a way of connecting with oneself.
