I took this photo in Sa Pa, in the Lào Cai Province, during my semester abroad in Vietnam. A few friends and I decided to book a tour with a local guide to walk through some of the villages in and around Sa Pa, when walking through this particular village, I came across this young girl who couldn't seem to stop giggling. It was a rainy day and the mood of the group was low, but she lifted everyone's spirits. The necessity of the simplicity of life, displayed by this little girl, was something I took with me back to the United States.
