My tour company always tries to immerse us in the local culture by including a Day in the Life. As part of this day's itinerary, we visited a local school on a Sunday. The children came especially for our tour group and dressed in their Sunday best. They performed a small musical dance skit for us (which included parading an American flag) and then took us back to their classrooms to show off their abilities. They were rewarded with ice cream. Two of my fellow travelers listened as this one young girl read her favorite book.
