Cotopaxi as seen from the South of Ecuador

I was very excited to take this photo, as my whole life I had appreciated Cotopaxi from the North side, where most of the population lies. Cotopaxi is an active volcano in Ecuador that reaches 19,247ft. I had no idea that on the South side there would be that rock sticking out to the east. There are so many crevices and ridges one would never imagine. Everything makes sense from above - you realize why it takes long to get from one point to another in Ecuador.
