I had been searching Grand Teton National Park for a composition that would line up a large group of cottonwoods with the dramatic peaks behind them. It was in late afternoon that I saw this possible spot from the highway, parked, and set out on foot to find the optimal view. The sun was side and backlighting the trees, making them glow, and there was enough weather to provide an interesting sky around the mountains.
