This is a part of age old Hindu festival Chhath Puja wherein Lord Surya Dev or Sun God is worshiped in order to achieve well being and all round development of Human beings. The devotees keep fast and expose themselves to sunlight to gain energy from the God of light, life force and energy. People keep their beloved ones before the worshiper so as to gain blessings of the Sun God, the source of life on earth. Being present in such an occasion, I found a lady laying down her baby before a Chhath devotee with a desire to receive God's blessings.
