Creating the Andromeda Galaxy

This image of the Common Kingfisher was taken on 01/31/2023 afternoon in a lake at the National Botanical Garden, Mirpur, Dhaka, Bangladesh. This is one of the several images that I took which depicts the eating behavior of the Common Kingfisher after it catches a fish. This image also displays its nictitating membrane: which is a transparent or translucent third eyelid present in some animals that can be drawn across the eye for protection and to moisten it while maintaining visibility. Fully developed nictitating membranes are found in fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals but are rare in primates.
