Creek Fire Milky Way
The location is a Hot Creek Geological Site in Mono County, California. I wanted to capture the Milky Way when it aligns exactly over the Mammoth Mountains. Earlier on a clear night on 11th Oct 2020, all my efforts got wasted because the tracker I was using didn't allow me for the portrait mode easily and had to move my camera thus losing my blue hour foreground. After having this one shot in my bucket list for couple years, a waste of clear night was really painful. So on my reserve night (14th Oct) in the trip, I tried again. This time I used my traditional way of stacking. The orange cloud is the smoke cloud illuminated by the Creek Fire in California.
